MIKE'S SHARING

Dear Pastor Wang,

Here are my receivings so far. Let me know if anything should be corrected. Thanks. -Mike

1. I've been looking for job for 5 months. God showed me I can survive on $400/wk unemployment benefit.

2. Pastor Wang told me about Corpus Cristi Chinese minister opportunity around 4/1. I looked at their website and research jobs there. I would like a bi-vocational ministry opportunity to start with, but Corpus Crisiti didn't have much engineering jobs. I didn't think I can do the job of a Chinese minister yet.

3. About mid-April, I heard from my old company about possible 6 months contract. The actual contract was send to me on 4/24.The start date in Sunnyvale, CA is 5/26.

4. For last 2 weeks, my DTS class devotional is the same one - "Keep That Vow". I know God is saying something to me. The devotional says:

"Have you made a promise to God which is yet unfulfilled (vv. 46)? If so, plan now to carry it out. Set a date for keeping that promise—and stick to it. God will honor you for it."

I know I need to set a date for keeping my committment to full-time ministry. However, I also know that it depends on God's timing.

5. This morning 04/25/09, a brother from church saw me at the supermarket. He strongly urges me to consider the English ministry position that is vacant at CCC. He points out he wouldn't say this if I wasn't a seminary student.

6. This afternoon 04/25/09, I called Pastor Wang to tell him my plans: have moving company move my things in early May and I will leave Dallas by middle May. He told me through prayer that he feels sad I didn't consider about full-time ministry opportunity. I told him I didn't think Corpus Christi is suitable for me since I'm more comfortable doing an English ministry position. But I get a sense that he feels the Corpus Cristi opportunity is from God.

7. I've been waiting for others to encourage me in vocational ministry. Today 4/25/09, I received 2 strong urging to consider ministry opportunities.

8. This evening 4/25/09, I went to bible study at UTD Grace Fellowship. The passage we studied are 1 Samuel 13:8-14, 15:22-23 and others about Saul and his disobedience and the consequences of his disobedience. I really don't want to disobey God and suffer the consequences. I'm convicted by the verse: "Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice And to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of divination, And insubordination is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has also rejected you from being king." 1 Samuel 15:22-23.

9. Today when I mention to Prof. Qiu about my struggles with the opportunity at Corpus Cristi which I don't think I can do, he also suggest going down to take a look and get their feedbacks as confirmation from God.

10. Conclusion. I don't want to reject God's word. I don't want to disobey God. I don't want to rebel against God. I don't want to be insubordinate. I want to obey God and do His will. I am willing to go visit Corpus Cristi, get to know them, and see what's God's calling there.
